Elementary German

K5 – 6th/7th grade

GSU Mascot

Our elementary program builds confident German speakers from the very beginning. Classes meet once a week for two hours, following the public school calendar for 30 sessions per year — approximately 50–60 hours of in-person instruction. Class sizes are limited to 10–12 students for personalized attention.

How We Teach — Binnendifferenzierung

We use a proven differentiation method called Binnendifferenzierung — meaning students at different levels learn together in the same classroom. Whether your child is a complete beginner or already has some German experience, they are challenged at exactly the right level. This mirrors real-life language learning and builds confidence, collaboration, and natural fluency.

  • Beginners always welcome — no prior German needed
  • Classes grouped by grade level (two grades combined per class)
  • Klett curriculum: Die Miniprofis & Wo ist Paula? series
  • Progress tracked using ACTFL Can-Do Statements
  • German culture woven into every lesson — holidays, traditions, food
  • Clear pathway into Middle & High School German
